As I sit down to write this, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey that 2024 has been. For entrepreneurs, educators, and childcare professionals, the close of the year is the perfect time to shed old baggage, embrace new possibilities, and pave the way for success. This blog post is a heartfelt invitation to join me, LaShawn, and my dear friend and powerhouse coach, Frances Davis, as we share insights and strategies for stepping confidently into 2025.
January 4th: Annual Vision Board Party
The Vision Board Party is my absolute favorite way to kick off a new year, and I’m thrilled to host it again on January 4th. Whether you join us in Chattanooga, TN, or log in via Zoom, you’ll leave feeling inspired and equipped to chase your dreams. Each participant will receive a vision board kit to bring their goals to life.
Vision boards have always been a powerful tool in my life. They remind me to dream big, stay focused, and believe in the possibilities ahead. This year’s event is about more than just gluing pictures to a board—it’s about creating a visual roadmap for your success. I’ll be sharing my own stories and strategies to help you turn those dreams into actionable steps. Together, we’ll set the tone for a phenomenal 2025.
Celebrating Black History Month in February
As we move into February, I’m excited to announce a series of events to celebrate Black History Month. This year, our focus will be on honoring trailblazing educators and childcare pioneers who have paved the way for so many of us. We’ll feature guest speakers, interactive workshops, and an inspiring showcase of culturally relevant teaching materials to use in your classrooms.
One event I’m particularly thrilled about is our storytelling circle, where educators and childcare providers can share their experiences and ideas for incorporating Black history into their daily lesson plans. Together, we’ll learn how to create inclusive and engaging environments that celebrate diversity year-round.
Edu Teacher Takeover: Every Third Thursday
This year, I’m introducing a monthly event I know you’ll love: the Edu Teacher Takeover. Every third Thursday of the month, we’ll feature a childcare provider or teacher who will give us a virtual room tour of their classroom. They’ll highlight how they organize their space, share tips for managing their materials, and showcase their favorite tools for creating a thriving learning environment.
These takeovers are a fantastic opportunity to learn from each other, celebrate the creativity within our community, and discover practical strategies to implement in your own space. Whether it’s a clever way to organize dramatic play toys or an innovative approach to circle time, there’s always something to take away.
Building Bridges in Business and Beyond
When Frances Davis and I first connected at a childcare conference, I had no idea how impactful our partnership would become. Her journey—from running a licensed home daycare to becoming a childcare coach and product creator—is nothing short of inspiring. Here are some lessons I’ve learned from her story:
- Start Where You Are: Frances began small but always kept her big dreams in sight. Her transition to owning a childcare center reminds me that growth is always possible when you stay the course.
- Get Organized: Frances’ HR guidebooks and personalized coaching have shown me the importance of clear systems and focused goals. Organization isn’t just about running a smoother business; it’s about reclaiming your time and energy for what truly matters.
- Value Connections: Our bond has been a powerful example of how relationships can fuel both personal and professional growth. Frances has taught me the value of showing up authentically and building connections that inspire collaboration.
Practical Tools for Business Owners
One of the highlights of our discussion was exploring Frances’ website. It’s packed with resources to help childcare professionals and business owners thrive. From free consultations to comprehensive HR guidebooks, there’s something for everyone. If you’re looking for guidance, I can’t recommend her services enough.
During our conversation, Frances also shared some of her favorite success stories—real-life examples of individuals who turned their businesses around with the right tools and mindset. These stories are a reminder that no matter where you are in your journey, there’s always room for growth and improvement.
